Tayport 2 V 0 Dundee North End

Whyte & Mackay East Super League
Wednesday 4th June 2003
TAYPORT 2 - 0 Dundee North End

Despite leaving out Brian Craik, Ross Gunnion, Barry McNaughton and Gareth Dailly from Sunday's OVD Scottish Junior Cup winning side Tayport showed no adverse affects from their considerable celebrations and went four points clear at the top of the East Super League this evening with a comfortable 2 - 0 win against Dundee North End.

Ralph Hunter scored the first after 12 minutes with David Evans notching the second in 74 minutes.

This leaves the 'Port needing 3 points from their remaining two matches starting on Saturday (7th) when they travel to Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic. At the same time Hill of Beath will be entertaining Dundee Violet.

The final league match for Tayport is on Thursday 12th at home to Oakley United. The latter need a win to stay in the Super League at the possible expense of either Glenrothes or Carnoustie Panmure. The Glens meet OVD finalists, Linlithgow Rose, on 12th June where a draw would secure their Super League status. The final league match sees Bathgate entertain Hill of Beath on 17th June.

Top two positions in the Super League are:

Team Played Points GD
Tayport 20 51 +38
Hill of Beath 20 47 +26
